Default Electric Smoker Insualtion Question

Hello,

I am new to smoking. About a year ago I purcharsed an electric Old
Smokey which I really enjoy. However in the middle of winter in
Central Oregon it gets pretty cold. I recently purcharsed some foil
backed fiberglass insulation and alumnium foil tape (both rated to
350°F) and insulated the outside of my Old Smokey. Prior to this I
used a Raytek laser thermometer to ensure that the ouside of my smoker
(especially below and near the heating element) does not go above
350°F. This seems to works well for insulation. My question is if
anyone sees any health issues with this setup?

I have been using the same insulation on my Old Smokey for 3 years now.
I did not insulate the bottom. Besides wrapping it around the smoker I
made a removable piece for the top. I also modified the smoker to use
the Maverick remote thermometer. I drilled two holes just under one of
the handles and then fashioned a cover plate for when I don't use the
thermometer.
