Hand blender vs. hand mixer

I am trying to make chocolate candies, and the recipe calls for a hand
blender. I was wondering if there is any significant difference in
using a hand mixer as opposed to the hand blender that the recipe calls
for.

Hand blender vs. hand mixer

A hand blender is used to eliminate lumps; a hand mixer is used to
combine ingredients, but not to make a smooth mixture.
