Alligator Coffe Cake

Would any kind person have a recipe for Alligator coffee cake.
A wonderful confection of almond paste and many pecans and enriched by
at least a pound of butter.
It is sold at a bakery near third and Fairfax in Los Angeles but they
won't
part with the recipe.
Blessings,
Can

I do not see any special recipe for that....
You can use any suitable coffee cake recipe that is preferably a rich
yeast raised sweet dough. Study ,make the dough , use the marzipan
filling sprinkled with chopped nuta and bake it ...
As for the butter , you can use a large part of the butter as the main
fat in the dough instead of shortening and use the other part to
brush the surface before spreading the filling .
Or in another way you can cream the almond paste with butter, then add
other ingredeints such as chopped nuts and even glaze fruits whatever
you like...
Roll it into cylinder and cut it scissors or sharp knife to simulate
the alligator.
after its baked brush with syrup was or apricot glaze or you can pipe
it with sugar icing on top.

good luck!

I think the recipe was printed in the LA Times awhile back in their SOS
section, although I'm not positively certain. I was looking for a recipe that
I had seen in the LA Times but they were going to charge me an arm and a leg
for the searching charge. I just went to the library and found it myself. They
have a great search system.

Did you try searching on Google?
