That's why spam is so popular--despite annoying 9,997 out of 10,000 people, it's a cheap and easy way to get those 3 sales. I just wish those three people would learn not to encourage the practice. The spammer attitude is a selfish one--"I can do whatever I want without regard to courtesy if I benefit from it." If it's OK for you to do it, why not others? Problem is with Godwin's law is that if you really are arguing with a Nazi
who is really spouting Nazi rhetoric etc and you call him/her/it a Nazi you lose even if you are 100% correct. hence that law can only be used when the person you confront has not issued racist slurs etc .... so that law really has no teeth does it -- "I have seen the worst that man can do.and I can still laugh loudly" R.J. from the FAQ: "Announcement of professional products or services on Usenet
is allowed, provided suitable restraint is exercised." and as per it's explanations of posting to any group I'm not creating spam in any way shape or form. reasons 1. posted to an appropriate group FOOD, BAKING. 2. only posted in one group so no screams about cross postings 3. no where did it say that a posting offering to sell or service something was not allowed in an rec. group. but since there is so much love in this group I'll just stick around and see what happens. -- "I have seen the worst that man can do.and I can still laugh loudly" R.J. Here's the rest of that paragraph: "Since someone else is paying the phone bills for this, it is important that it be of overall benefit to Usenet. One of the few groups where such information is appropriate is comp.newprod. comp.newprod is a moderated group; you can get the submission guidelines from the article "Welcome to comp.newprod", posted periodically to comp.newprod and news.answers." and "There exists an alternative hierarchy called "biz" specifically for commercial postings." > and as per it's explanations of posting to any group I'm not creating spam > in any way shape or form. > reasons > 1. posted to an appropriate group FOOD, BAKING. Because the very definition of what a "rec." group is is more basic than that--the FAQ tells you to find out what the groups are for. -- to respond, change "spamless.invalid" with "optonline.net" please mail OT responses only |
