I don't know, but with a Sambal Oolek sauce, it sounds tasty!

Only reference I've found was for frozen bananas dipped in chocolate.

It's just a guess but the seahorse used in chinese medicine has a tail like
a monkey's tail. Maybe it is a medicinal ingredient (yin/yang)?

So either throw in four bananas or four @ signs. Chef's choice.

Given the appearance of the site, I agree with Lawrence. Since the
ingredient is marked "optional," I'd leave it out.

Wise advice. But then, of course, it will not be authentic.

It was going to be tails or butts. I chose tails, though, if monkey butts
are as delicious as chicken butts, maybe I made the wrong choice ...

;-)

Yeah? I saw monkey tails in the store today and decided to pick them
up and use them for that recipe. I don't know what you were thinking,
but they didn't go very well with that dish. I strongly reccomend
leaving them out. Maybe I go the wrong breed of monkey?

So this guy was sitting at the bar, with his martini in front of
him, when a monkey walked across the bar, and stood over the
glass, with his tail hanging in it.

The man called the bartender and said "Hey! Your monkey's got his
tail in my martini."

"It's not my monkey. Tell the piano player about it. It's his."

So the man got up and walked over to the piano player. "Do you
know your monkey's got his tail in my martini."

Came the reply: "No, but if you hum it, I'll play along."
