And the French are all fond of light wine and dancing.

Actually, this is a (n unattributed) phrase I've seen more than once
in early 20th century literature. The entire quote is "The French are
a *** people fond of light wine and dancing." I omitted "***" in light
of its current meaning. I suppose it was taken from some popular
travel book. Similar to other characterizations of ethnic/national
groups. BTW, the only 'ethnic' groceries in my area are
Korean-owned, and carry quite a diverse (and seemingly random)
selection of Korean, Thai, Japanese, Hispanic, and (too rarely) Indian
foods and implements.

If you would read and follow entire threads instead of replying to some
sentence in a post written three months ago, you might have more of a clue.

Peter
