When someone says "all they do is run a web site" it irritates me. Sure,
they are in business to make money, but they also have a lot of costs, a
huge payroll, rent, taxes, employee benefits, utility bills, etc. This
certainly is not run by a kid with a computer in the bedroom.
Same with most businesses. Where I work I often take visitors into the
plant and warehouse. They see our inventory and make comments like "wow,
you guys must make a lot of money". I ask them what they think our gas and
electric bills are. They guess that electric is $500 and gas is maybe
$1000. In reality, electric is $20,000 and gas is $25000 in summer, $30,000
in winter.
