Fruit orchards at trimming time, stop with a cold six pack of soda when they
are trimming trees for the utility lines, cabinet shops are a good source of
oak, cherry, maple, just be sure to get out any pine, poplar etc. Any
woodworker hobbyist can offer you the same. Your neighbor's pile of
firewood is good too. Either pick it up when he is out for the night or
take over some ribs for him to try. Take a walk through the park on a windy
day or after a storm and drag out a few branches.
