Default Diabetic problem with sugar in bacon?

If he's not putting honey or jam on his toast, my first suspicion would
be high fructose corn syrup in something... maybe the sausage. They
might call it "maple-cured sausage" or bacon. But still, that hardly
seems enough on its own. Maybe the combination of that plus white bread
(?) toast is doing it. I've also heard that nitrates, often present in
fast food, can cause diabetic or inflammatory reactions. The bacon and
sausage might be loaded with it.
