Default Duncan Hines Spice Cake Mix Oatmeal Cookies

Requested: Oatmeal Cookies made with Duncan Hines Spice Cake Mix
My sister in law's recipes were lost in a fire. We are looking for my
mother in law's recipe for Oatmeal Cookies and no one else seems to have
it. My sister in law remembers only that it had to be Duncan Hines Spice
Cake Mix and that it had milk in it along with the oatmeal. Can anyone
help? Thanks, appreciate it!!

Oatmeal Cookies

This recipe comes from The Duncan Hines Dessert Book, a small paperback
published in 1961. The recipe does not list milk as one of the
ingredients, but I hope these are the oatmeal cookies you are looking for,
Anne.

2 eggs
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 lb. (1 stick) butter or margarine, softened
1 pkg. White or Spice Cake Mix
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats

Beat eggs with baking soda. Add butter or margarine and beat well. Stir
dry cake mix into the butter-egg mixture until completely moistened. Add
flour and oatmeal and mix well. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls, 2 inches
apart, on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees, on rack above
center, 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan to cooling rack immediately.
NOTE: For crisp cookies, use 1 egg and 2 Tablespoons water, instead of 2
eggs.
