There's a small town about 45 miles from Fargo named Wahpeton
(pronounced wah peh tun
accent on the wah). It's a Native American name (novelist Louise
Erdrich is from the reservation close to Wahpeton) Their foot ball
team are the Wahps but I don't know how they spell it. I've seen it on
home made cheer signs spelled: Whaps.
