I don't think that's a good idea. In fact, I'm sure it isn't.

For one thing, the heat won't be high enough to steam tamales. For
another, you wouldn't be able to fit very many tamales into a crock
pot.

My advice is to use that crock pot to make some turkey picadillo to
feed the friends who are with you for your tamalada.

Then, eat, drink, and enjoy each others' company on this special
evening!

BTW, there is a play called LAS NUEVAS TAMALERAS being produced in San
Antonio again this Christmas season, I think for at least the third or
fourth time.

As the title suggests, some young women get together to make holiday
tamales for the first time, but then the spirits of older women stand
over them to make sure they do it just the right way.

The play is in both English and Spanish, and I wish I knew more local
Spanish.
