You are correct. I was room dad for 4 years at elementary school.
I couldn't even believe the horror stories that the teachers told
me about some of the kids living in really bad situations. I did
believe it, of course, but so different from my childhood and my
daughters. Very sad.
I teased you but I retract that. Poverty situations are nothing
to joke about - especially when children are involved.
