If only such a list existed! It doesn't. Obviously things that are mostly
empty calories are bad. Like sweets. Unless of course the diabetic is
having a hypo. Then they will need sweets.

Whole fruits and vegetables are better than juice because they contain
fiber. And the juice can be high in carbs. Exception being tomato juice.
That's fairly low in carbs. And some diet juice blends aren't too bad.

Bottom line is that carbs raise BG (blood glucose) the most. Some people
find they do better on a low carb diet, others do not. But pretty much no
diabetic would do well on a high carb diet unless perhaps it is a very
active mail. Of course it depends also on the type of diabetes and what (if
any) meds or insulin are being used. There is no one diet that works for
everyone.

A good starting point would be to see a dietician. If you have insurance
they will likely pay for it. You may or may not need a referral depending
on the type of insurance plan you have. The dietician will explain food
choices to you, talk about portion sizes, discuss with you the best times to
eat and give you a sample diet plan to try. Again there is no one diet that
will work for everyone and this is just a starting point. Some people find
that the diet plan they are given has too many carbs for their body. But it
is a starting point.
