Default Leafy taste in a cup

Ill go with your theory. At any point if I decant the infusion with
the leaves into another cup I cant smell any aroma coming from the
leaves. The aroma of the leaves is so strong it does contribute to
the taste. Ive been drinking my teas so long with the leaves in the
cup I was startled how different the tea tasted when decanted. You
would think I could create some decanted brew containing the aroma of
the leaves but I cant even come close. It is not as obvious as it
seems.
