Default Mortet and Barnett

Opened at a tasting last night.
2000 Denis Mortet Gevrey Chambertain "Lavaut St. Jacques" -It seemed
cloudy and a bit tired right after it was opened but within 30 minutes
it seemed to settle and become much clearer and brighter. Nose of
crushed red berries and iron. Rich red cherry on the palate with a
bit of mushroom and leather notes. Very fine tannins and a smooth
finish. A-

2004 Barnett Spring Mountain Cabernet-Fairly light weight from start
to finish. Deep purple color but not much nose. A bit of black
cherry and oak at first but it seemed to get weaker the longer it was
opened. Subdued black fruit flavors and not much else. Perhpas a bad
bottle? C
