I was wondering how many bottles you have in stock (wine cellar) and what's
"fermenting. I have 750 + in my "stock" all home made + Local winery bottles 50+, fermenting 24 gal of Wineexpert limited editions, 6 gal Strawberry white merlot, 6 gal cran-raspberry, 6 gal "mixed fruit". On order 30 gal of Chilean Juice Tom -- Home of the MOON RIVER BREWERY and DELANCO VINEYARDS |

Funny you should mention this...
I've been slowly expanding my 'empty' bottle collection for my future growth. I've got around (now) equivalent 750ml (tons of magnums). So right now... 15 gallons Cab Sauv 30 gallons Chard 5 gallons Zin 5 gallons Pinot Grigio 10 gallons mead and 20 gallons beer in assorted types. But the wife makes that. The wine rack, hand built, was designed to hold quite a few bottles but has felt very empty since I started making wine. About the only thing I buy now is the occasional French Bordeaux / St. Emillion and cases of Banrock Estates. First I love the bottles/labels Banrock uses and you can buy a 1 L bottle for around $4.50. Considering it is pretty decent wine especially given the price. The rack, however, is lonely... maybe I'll bottle the 10 gallons of the chard sooner and blend away the last 5 with the stuff undergoing MLF.... Given that... 15 bottles of assorted white (Fingerlakes region, NY) 10 bottles assorted Red 5 bottles Champagne (ya never know...) 15 bottles 'nice' bordeaux and about 25 bottles 'reserves' that I'm not allowed to know about that the wife keeps in a wine fridge elsewhere. While I was courting my wife (a wine lover) I had that rack fully stocked with everything you could want- including a minimum of two bottles of Dom just in case she wanted them. Now that we're married if I buy her beer supplies she's excited ![]() I just hope I can continue to make great wines- and this group is definately instrumental in making that possible. ~J |

I started in August 2005:
100 bottles empty (see carboys below) 90 bottles in stock (Cranberry, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Peach-Mango, Apple, Pumpkin, etc.) 22 gallons in carboys for July bottling (Syrah, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris) 6 gallons in primary (Mango)fruit was on sale for 3/$1. Boy, I thought I was getting outta hand until I see the other replies. phew. I bought 3 low wine racks that fit behind my couch and out of sight. (no basement yet)I have cases of wine stacked in closets all over the house. Have to print out your replies to justify to wife my growing hobby, DAve Tom wrote: I was wondering how many bottles you have in stock (wine cellar) and what's "fermenting. not talk about ideal storage) ~ 90 bottles in the living space "cellar" 45 gallons in carboy 5 gallons in barrel (guess how big my barrel collections is) 5 gallons of beer patiently waiting its past-eminent need to be bottled "DAve Allison" wrote in message news ![]() I started in August 2005: 100 bottles empty (see carboys below) 90 bottles in stock (Cranberry, Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Peach-Mango, Apple, Pumpkin, etc.) 22 gallons in carboys for July bottling (Syrah, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris) 6 gallons in primary (Mango)fruit was on sale for 3/$1.
