I just paid $27 per 36lb case of zinfandel grapes (Santa Clara).
Excellent quality, but wondering what others are paying. I'm in the

Just bought 32 cases of Old Vine Zinfandel at Consumers Produce in
Pittsburgh, PA http://www.consumersproduce.com/ for $26 a box.

Hi Steve

When did you get the Old Vine Zin from Consumers? When we went down
last Tuesday the only grapes they would sell us were some Cab Sauv and
some Muscat.

The price in Kitchener, Canada was quoted at 29$/36lbs case. Special order.

We picked them up on 9/18, I think they came in from CA on 9/15. We had
ordered in advance and they set them aside. Good thing, because we
drove 3.5 hours to get there and when we got there at 8:00am there
wasn't much out on the floor. Our total order was 62 Cab; 48 Zin; 28
Carignane for three winemakers.
They said they would be getting more in over the following three weeks
so you might want to call them if you need something. One problem this
year is that Ron C "Mr Wine Grapes" at Consumers was having health
problems and someone else had to organize the effort. The service was
still good but I know they were scrambling to get grapes ordered and get
customers' orders filled.
We've crushed, pressed and have 150 gal of wine in five 30 gal barrels
waiting to be racked in a week or two. Life is good.

Good Luck
Steve

Hi Bob;

About 2 weeks ago I purchased 3 crates of old vine Zin from M&M
produce in Hartford (www.juicegrape.com). Paid $28 per 36lbs

Where in the Northeast are you located ?

I think the prices in Chelsea jumped this year. I was paying $19 - $23
per lug in previous years and $25 - $27 this year.

I paid $20 for Grenache, and $24 for Merlot at Premier in Pittsburgh.
Both were perfect.
