Unless you're outside the U.S. distilling is controlled by the BATF.
Their term for home distillation is "moonshining", and it's very illegal.
You can make beer, you can make wine, and you can make distilled spirits,
but only the distilled spirits part will land you in the hoosegow. Best
leave it alone, unless you're prepared to get a federal distiller's
license.......

On the other hand, you can certainly purchase spirits and flavor them
yourself. I have had good success infusing fruit flavors like Cranberry into
vodka and making some nice liqours.

Here is all you need to know about the process of distilling hard
liquor. If you live in New Zealand it is legal. Otherwise in any
western country that I know of it is illegal and will be inforced.

Certainly, but thee's a vast difference legally between adding
commerically made hard liqeur to a spirit and making the hard liqeur your
self.
