In the year 2000 I loved the 1997 version of this wine. So I go into my
local merchant and see an end-stack of a version of this wine. So I'm thinking 2001 or maybe 2002. Well, it's a 1998 at 10 USD a bottle. Big fruit bomb that has been tempered (some) with oak. If I remember correctly the 1997 was something like 14+ alcohol, this weighs in at about 13.5. There is no effect of aging. Doesn't get better or worse. A great all american zin. If you see it, buy it. Is Gallo just dumping it? Rich |

It's usually about $12-$14 here but once in awhile I find it for $10. |
