Puzzling wine producing area in world map?
Please take a look at this world map (from England's Berry Bros. & Rudd) of wine producing areas: http://www.bbr.com/GB/wine-knowledge...WHNBQ7SNJ7001H There is a spot south (below the 30th latitude) and east of California that seems a bit puzzling. It looks to be in inland Mexico. I know Mexico's Baja California produces wine, and is duly noted on the map, however, I was not aware of there being a wine producing area inland. Wondering whether that spot is a cartographic error. -- ================================================= Do you like wine? Do you live in South Florida? BBR include spirits in wine production. Note the inclusion of Scotland in
wine producing areas of Europe!!!!! I'm wondering if they are confusing grape-growing areas with
wine-making areas. Leo Bueno wrote: > I know Mexico's Baja California produces wine, and is duly noted on > the map, however, I was not aware of there being a wine producing area > inland. > > Wondering whether that spot is a cartographic error. |

It looks to be in inland Mexico. As David says, this could be Jalisco (Tequila/Mezcal) or Oaxaca (Pulque), neither of which is wine IMO. Mark Lipton |

Of course, Baja California is the more famous area. |
