Default OT: Best wishes for our London readers

Hopefully casualities are not too numerous. Attacks on civilians to
make political points is sheer barbarity.

To all in the UK, our hearts and minds are with you.

Thank you Dale

The death toll continues to rise, not on the level of 9/11 but the transport
chaos is immense. How are the million odd commuters going to get home. All
the tubes and main railway stations are shut, the buses are out in inner
London.

We knew it would happen one day, not if, but when.

Indeed, it sounds horrific, John: the highest death toll since WWII.
And one day after the jubilation about the 2012 Olympics... My deepest
sympathies are with all concerned.

The savageness and randomness of modern terrorism makes this one world, one
heart in the words of Bob Marley. Its like the London Blitz or Pearl
Harbour squared for people of my generation. I've just returned from
speeking to the latest graduates of the US Army's Advanced training for
Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations at Fort Bragg. These young men
and women will soon be in Afghanistan,. Iraq and who knows, trying to
rebuild a country and spread a message of democracy while it seems their
civilian leaders have no clear understanding of what their real mission is:
to keep us all safe. In Vietnam, our CA and PO activities caused over
200,000 Viet Cong and NVA troops to lay down their arms. Thats 200,000
rifles no longer aimed at us.

Citizens here and in Great Britain need to know more about how this war is
being conducted then just body counts. If the goals is to make friends, why
prison scandals and the sacking of a country's treasures? The fight against
terrorism, should not be Halliburton Uber Alles. We must demand more from
our leaders!
