How do you explain that well over 3/4 of world production is red?

It is easier to make a good red than a good white...

Whites, I suppose - at least I tend to be less choosy about whites than
reds.

The one that goes best with whatever I'm eating.

In sales, whites still lead, but reds are catching up. However, I'll bet

that
in this group, the answer will be "yes," to any color wine, so long as it is
well made.

The last sales figures that I saw listed white wine at 58%, with reds an
obvious second, followed very far down by rose. IIRC this was not just for US,
but for the world. If your figures are correct, then either the data that I
saw was incorrect, or there is a LOT of unsold red wine! I'm hoping for the
latter, so the price on '00 Bordeaux will fall drastically G.

It all depends upon what I'm eating and what I feel like at the time. It's a
bit like asking whether you prefer chicken or beef. What _I_ may prefer
should have no influence on what you prefer and vice-versa, and really, it
shouldn't really interest you much as my reasons for liking it may have
nothing to do with what your experience may lead you to like.
