Hi,
With the french in-laws, I have acquired the following wines, and would like to learn more about them. I am particularly interested in the best time to drink them (are some of them past their 'due dates'), if they have any value, and if there are any ratings for them... They have all been stored very well, with no visible leakage and the wine in all cases is at the high shoulder or in the neck. Thanks in advance for any info! Bryan 1. Chateau Vieux-Guinot, Saint Emilion grand cru, 1998 2. Chateau Tour de Moulin, Fronsac, 1998 3. Chateau la Louviere, Pessac-Leognon, 1999 4. Chateau Terrey Gros Cailloux, cru bourgois, Saint Julien, 1988 5. Chateau Grand Tertre, bordeax superior, Cotes de Castillon, 1986 6. Chateau Guiraud, premier cru, 1997 and 1995 |

A fill in the high shoulder would be a bit troubling to me. 3. Chateau la Louviere, Pessac-Leognon, 1999 A well-known property, part of the Lurton empire. Is this their red or white? If the former, hold onto it for a few more years; the white's ready to drink now. 4. Chateau Terrey Gros Cailloux, cru bourgois, Saint Julien, 1988 Probably ready to drink now. I just recently had an '88 Chasse-Spleen that was drinking wonderfully. Your wine will probably last for another 5 years easily, so no hurry to finish it all off. 6. Chateau Guiraud, premier cru, 1997 and 1995 One of the top Chateaux of Sauternes. Assuming that you're referring to their sweet white, both '95 and '97 are still fairly young, but could be drunk now with pleasure. These wines could easily last for another 10+ years, though. I know all about them, but I would not tell you anything about them if
my life depended on it! BCC wrote: Hi, With the french in-laws, I have acquired the following wines, and would like to learn more about them.
