I have a couple of bottles that I have been hoarding, uncertain when to appreciate
them at their best as I am not an habitual Bordeaux drinker. Chateau La Marzelle 1995 Grand Cru Classe St. Emilion. My instinct is to drink this next year, but may this be too soon? Should I have made risotto with it years ago? Chateau Moulin de Blanchon 1997 Haut-Medoc. Again, ten years feels about right. I cannot pretend that either has been properly cellared, as I lack the facilities. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks, Ian |

Any advice would be gratefully receive I don't know either, but would open both soon. 1995 was a pretty decent year in St. Émilion. My experience is that the bigger wines are quite closed now, but I think that as I've never heard of Marzelle, it's likely to be quite ready (especially if warm storage). 1997 is a comparatively early drinking vintage, and even some of the big names are pretty near mature. I'd open that one ASAP, and have a backup bottle of something available. These are just guesses, someone with direct knowledge of these 2 wines would of course be more accurate.
