A wine novice here. I received as a gift a bottle of Joseph
Drouhin, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 1996. I've pecked about the web for a while today trying to find out more about this wine--particularly how long it should be cellared. Anyone out there have any ideas? Perhaps a web link that can be suggested that I've missed? Thanks in advance! |

Sounds like a nice gift to me! 1996 was a pretty good vintage in Burgundy, and Joseph Drouhin is one of the biggest and most reliable Burgundian houses. With 7½ years of age, that bottle is probably drinking very nicely now. You _could_ hang onto it for several years or more, but personally I'd recommend you have it with dinner and a nice companion. Valentine's Day maybe? Tom S |
