325s? Won't splurge for the 375s?

I think its hilarious that RP has said for years the notes are more
important than the points, then just publishes points.

That's pretty much in line with what JJBuckley had to say - no middle
and a lot short. They were unimpressed. They do have their tasting
notes for the individual houses.\:

and notes on each region. Given that this is en primeur tasting, and
that RP seems to be unimpressed overall with the vintage, this may be a
blesing i disguise. Rather than make numerous derogatory remarks, he is
holding his sometimes acerbic tongue untol, one assumes, release
tastings.

It is specially interesting that RP, that has always said that notes were
more important that scores, decided to post scores without notes.

The question is: why?

IMHO, after reading his contributions in TWA and in eRobertParker forum, I
believe he decided to send a message to the system, and the greed of the
last three years has been the starter for the situation.

Actually, he has a part on all this greed (even if it is against his own
preference), since his palate has been dictating demand and identifying
what are the best wines, making them an easy target for speculators and
wealthy people that only demand "the best".

His power is such, that the quality of the wines is not important. Only his
rating. How many calls do you think were made to La Place de Bordeaux to
get as much Malescot St.Exupery as possible, after been raised to 97 points
last thursday? At the same time, those that purchased futures of Pichon
Longueville (down from 90 to 85 "tasted three times") are really upset,
even if the wine is the same wine.

RP has released an unimpressive set of scores that will not drive up
demand, and has neglected to release notes so that the negociants, the
importers and retailers will not have a single chance to use his literature
to frame what will surely be absurd prices.
