Default Donnhoff Estate Riesling 2005

I'm amazed that this is a QbA. Opened it early yesterday evening, had
a few glasses over several hours while watching the cricket and it's
an amazing wine for the price. Started out showing mostly grapefruit
and mineral flavours, but it just kept evolving with time to develop
layers of green apple, flowers, citrus, peach around a lovely
minerally core. Plenty of acidity to balance out the bit of sweetness
here, incredibly clean and elegant - just a stunning wine, especially
at the QbA level. Have most of the bottle still lying in the fridge,
and look forward to seeing how it keeps going over the next day or so.

Cheers,
Salil

Salil,

how do you manage to have few glasses of a great riesling by Dönhoff over
several hours and even have leftovers. When I open a bottle of good
riesling (Selbach-Oster, Keller, Dönhoff, Van Volxem...), it does not take
more than 30 minutes for the bottle to be finished!!!
