Opened tonight with a dinner of shrimp stir-fried with veggies in a
black bean-garlic-ginger concoction: 2005 Luneau-Papin 'Clos des Allees' Muscadet Sevre et Main Sur Lie (whew) color: green-tinged yellow nose: green apples, minerals palate: round entry, lush fruit, crisp, fresh, lively This is a single-vineyard Muscadet from Luneau-Papin, as opposed to their flagship L D'Or bottling. '05 was a ripe year in the Loire and it shows with this fleshy Muscadet, but even so it never loses its zip and is quite excellent with our shrimp. Most likely, it would do well with any seafood. $15 and well worth the price. Mark Lipton -- alt.food.wine FAQ: http://winefaq.hostexcellence.com |

In pedantic mode, Sèvre-et-Maine, just like the state harbouring Bangor. Re L d'Or, I left with the understanding that it is always single vineyard, but the choice of parcel is selected annually. However, it is apparently an open secret that the same vineyard is always selected. 2005 is a great vintage throughout the Loire, it seems. I was really delighted to discover L-P recently, thanks again denizens of AFW. -E -- Emery Davis You can reply to ecom by removing the well known companies Questions about wine?
