Hello,
My friends, the Garage Wine Importers, are on the lookout for a Valpolicella
from a small but good producer (15-20 ha). If he/she makes a good Amarone,
that is a valuable bonus, but primarily they want a Valpolicella (or a
Ripasso).
If you know of any producer in the Verona neighbourhood with an interest in
exporting to Sweden, please let me know ASAP as I leave for France Thursday.

Reka? Vilco? Luk? Mike? This means YOU!

Cheers

Nils Gustaf

Ca Del Monte--very good producer--I had them as clients for the US---I can
email you their address & phone number---they are located about 5 km from
Quintarelli on the same road from Negrar--also make some kick ass grappa.

Hi Nils

The kind blogger Elisabetta Tosi aka Lizzy
(http://www.tigulliovino.it/vinopigro/)suggests the following:

ACCORDINI STEFANO, Pedemonte (Valpolicella Classica),
www.accordinistefano.it (ask for Tiziano Accordini); probably present in
Sweden, but try anyway;

VILLA BELLINI, Valpolicella Classica, www.villabellini.com, ask for
Cecilia Trucchi;

FASOLI GINO, S.Zeno di Colognola ai Colli (Valpolicella Doc),
www.fasoligino.com (ask for Franco or Natalino;

LE SALETTE, Fumane, Valpolicella Classica, www.lesalette.it, ask for
Monica or Franco Scamperle;

Az. agricola TEZZA, Poiano, Valpolicella Doc, www.tezzawines.it,
ask for Vanio.

Don't forget to remind them they were suggested by Elisabetta.

Soon other items from Aristide (http://www.aristide.biz/)

Aristide and Lizzy live in Verona.

Next weekend there is a IHV gettogether just past Genova... I will not be
there but I am thinking on Nov 6 of meeting the whole gang again for the
franco-italian winemaker's gig in Fronovo near Parma. Boulard will be
there, as well as Ch Ste Anne and others you know Nils...

Fornovo, yes, a good reason to jump there Nils! It is also a very good
season for mushrooms there. Not "Gyromitra esculenta", but safe boletus
edulis, the best you can find everywere.

Hello,
No sorry, no chance, 6 November I am back at the old grind ... gomen
nasai
We'll start home 2 November, spend a night in Beaune and see good guy Jim
Tanner (dinner at Ma Cuisine!), pick up some whites and reds at Coche
Bizouard in Meursault (highly recommended BTW), then on to Alsace from which
I will have to fly to Barcelona for a business meeting ... argh argh argh
....
the complications in the logistics are only overshadowed by the complete and
utter dreariness of the affair.
Don't even ask me about Hannover.

Cheers

Ah yes I confirm. And if Vilco is there, certainly accompanied by a
Lambrusco, albeit a serious one.

Obviously. I'd bring a bottle of Modo del Moro, in only they would put out
the 2001: the 2000 is now sligthly over it's prime.
We still have to decide where to eat. Mariella, in not-so-nearby Fragno,
offers a wine chart which comes in 6 *thick* books closed in a suitcase,
with wonderfully priced jewels. I have never seen, either before or after, a
1993 Giacomo Conterno Barolo Monfortino Riserva sold for 150 euro
They are also very good at cooking theyr local black truffle, a little
surprise for this area.
The downside of this place is the distance: a good 20 minutes by car, while
last year's restaurant was just over the corner.

No doubt an infanticide, though ...
