I have actually never had the Hanzell wines. But recently, El Molino and Mt
Eden Estate have been the style I like. A wine shop in Yountville suggested I try Hanzell and I plan to order some next week. Do you find it much different than most of California? I don't care for Montelena or Cakebreads style. Your thought. "Lawrence Leichtman" wrote in message ... In article et, "Richard Neidich" wrote: Anyone have info? What year? Hanzell founded by Zellerbach family run by Bob Sessions---They go back to
post WW2 days--Had a hard to get on mail list. In 80's I got on Swan/ Robert Long/Stony Hills lists but I tried to sweet talk Sessions @ 1st Sonoma Co auction, he wouldn't move me up on waiting list. Chard very good similar to Stony Hill. Now there's a gazillion such lists--Once it was mostly 5 lists including Heitz. "Richard Neidich" wrote in message news ![]() Anyone have info? |

No, it is a very typical California Chardonnay just more so. I went through a Chardonnay phase that I am now out of and I found these near the top along with Pahlmeyer and Kistler all in the same range of taste and price. I haven't had Marcassin or Konisgaard but those are ridiculously priced for Chardonnay so I guess I never will. No my max on a Chardonnay is Ramey. If you don't like Montelena you may not like Hanzell. |
