Default Suggestions!

Hi! I am very new to being a vegeterian (this is only my second day
and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on things I can cook,
how to stick to it and also how to make sure I'm getting all the
vitamins, proetein, etc, that I need. I hope you don't mind the
X-posting to other veggie groups. Thanks for any help you can give

Peace,
Susie

- most libraries have tons of vegetarian cookbooks
- this group has tons of recipies
- tons of vegan recipies in this group

The best thing to do is to get a recipie and jump in. Start finding
recipies that you like.

Read a good nutrition book and follow the advice.

I recommend:
http://www.bestwebbuys.com/books/search?isrc=b-home-search&q=1-57067-103-6&x=6&y=10&t=ISBN'

It is the most up to date and thorough I have seen. It gives good
information for vegans, vegetarians and even omnis alike.

What kind of things do you like to eat? Are you new to cooking as
well, or are you fairly experienced? What kinds of ingredients can
you get - do you live in a large city with access to wholefood and
Asian food shops, or are you stuck in the middle of nowhere with only
patchy access to even fresh vegetables? What kitchen facilities do
you have? Are you just cooking for yourself, or for others too?

I have lots of (vegan) recipes at
http://www.earth.li/~kake/cookery/
and would be happy to advise you on any of them, or to post more ideas
once you tell us a little more about your situation.

Here is a good site to keep track of nutrients (based upon what you eat):

Sorry for the late reply...

For nutritional needs, check your local library to see if they have the
book 'Becoming Vegetarian'. It seems to be one of the better Vegatarian
nutritional books out there.
