Default Making soya milk.. need blender?

Do I need to buy a specific milk maker to make soya/nut/oat milk.

Or can I just use a normal blender?

I'd like to try doing this.. a friend has introduced me to this and it
seems quite fun.

Thanks

It's ages since I've made soya milk, and I only did it once or twice,
but I used a normal blender and I don't remember any significant problems.

Do be aware that there will be a fair bit of "okara" left over from
the process - this is the bulk residue that gets strained out of the
milk. There's quite a lot you can do with it, though. I made granola
with mine, and I think I've heard you can put it in bread. Oh, yes,
and there's this:

I make nut/oat/rice milk in a normal blender. It's my understanding
that soymilk is a LOT easier in a soymilk maker, but I don't make it
myself.

I know you *can* do it by hand. But it seems a lot harder than with a
machine. My girlfriend just got a machine, and it's super easy. Hers
cost about $70 at an asian electronics store. Decent ones can be gotten
in the range of $70 - $120, I think.

New Farm Cookbook and probably plenty of places online will tell you how
to do it "by hand" if you want to do it that way. It's definitely
possible.

I haven't messed with it, but supposedly it can make baked goods
lighter.

You can also stir fry it (with some oil and soy sauce).
The gf made an okra / okara stirfry the other week just for kicks
(because the names are so similar).
