Anyone out there have any ideas about a fat-free vegan substitute for
hummus? The substitute would be used like hummus, on crackers and on
sandwhiches.

You can go overboard trying to avoid all oil. HDL is good for you.
Watch your oil make up. Of course, al oils to excess will contribute to
obesity.
