It says Product of China Tuhsu Fujian tea Imp. & Exp. Corp. and it does say
Art. No. FL111 on the can so...I bet that's the right stuff. There are pics uploaded to my Yahoo album here though: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/csinesis/album?.dir=/c9db Melinda "Space Cowboy" wrote in message oups.com... When you get the chance briefly described the tin color, size, English, engravings etc. There are many TKY tins on the local shelves. It would be easy to overlook. Thanks, Jim Melinda wrote: "Space Cowboy" wrote in message oups.com... Hi Melinda, Is it one of the Butterfly TKY found here? Thanks, Melinda. I haven't seen that one because I would have bought
it for the art work alone. I'll keep an eye out though on the next trip. Jim Melinda wrote: It says Product of China Tuhsu Fujian tea Imp. & Exp. Corp. and it does say Art. oups.com... Today after work I stopped at the "Ranch 99 Market" (an Asian supermarket on Hwy 99 north of Seattle) and picked up a 7oz bag of sencha for $3, and a 7.4oz jar (with a glass-and-plastic stopper) of a very green Ti Kuan Yin for $10. The jar has a mostly yellow label that appears to be branded "ASIAN TASTE (R)" and the tea itself is described as "Xue Feng Ti Kuan Yin" ... and some Japanese katakana above it reads something like "tekkanmen" (more precisely, "te-small tsu, ka-n, me-n") and I've just noticed a gold "ASIAN TASTE" label on the bottom of the jar as well. Now having a third infusion -- this stuff is absolutely delicious, and easily stands up to the "Monkey Picked Tiguanyin" that Michael Plant sent me a sample of last month (for all I know, it's the same stuff). I must return to that store soon and try the same brand's Dragonwell; there's also some green tea there that strongly resembles the "Green Pekoe Blues" that I got a sample of from Adagio last Christmas. Lots of other interesting-looking stuff there, too, but I didn't want to go on a crazy buying spree just yet. damn, I just love green oolongs, stePH in cup: see post :-) Hi stePH, I picked this up yesterday...it's not as good to me as some of the A Li Shan's I've gotten from Hou De, but it's OK. I did NOT like that it came in a clear glass jar, let's the light in and is bad for tea. But I'm going to spend some time with it, if you're interested in further comments later from me I'll oblige. It is a greener TGY than I've had before, and that's kind of a relief...I used to like the really roasted ones and now I've gotten away from those more. I can't compare it to another green TGY though, so you'd have the advantage there of having something similar with which to compare it. While I was there I picked up a cardboard canister of pouchong, it's a broken leaf and so far has proved to be very astringent in a way I haven't had to deal with in a long time in an oolong but I have a feeling it's because it IS broken and I bet I steeped it too long. Again, I'll have to experiment more. I just wanted some because it's a type of oolong I haven't had before. Can anyone recommend a fairly inexpensive basic pouchong that might be available to me? Whole leaf preferred. Melinda |

But I was headed up to North Seattle for somehting else and I'd never heard of Ranch 99 and I am ALWAYS on the lookout for new cool grocery stores etc. (I really like Uwajimaya.) Ranch 99 is the first "Asian" store I've been in that uses frequent shopper cards...something new. Melinda |
