Thanks "Tea", yes, indeed I got some darjeeling tea from a darjeeling
based
merchant. I bought two kgs, one Kalej Valley Oolong tea and the other
Puttabong Clonal SFTGFOP-1. Although I am not so much familiar with the
names, I hope I got the right ones. They told me that it would be
delivered within 7 days and guess what, on the fifth day, I received the
same. The teas are really great, half of the tea I received was shared
among my friends who are tea drinkers from the very end. I am just a new
comer. They told me that the tea is really of superior quality and fresh.
I too really liked the teas. Cheer to great Darjeeling Teas!

Who did you buy the teas from?

Hello Aloke, there was a little fuss by some of the forum members regarding
the site from whom I got the teas. But to tell you frankly, the site had a
very customer service and they lived up to their promise by delivering the
tea before they had promised. And yes, regarding the tea, I have already
written.

Its - www.darjeelingnews.net

You have to click on their shopping link to get into the shopping area
where you can buy the teas.

Hope I have helped you and hope you too get the best brew in your cup.

Which one of their Darjeeling's did you get? I didn't see any way to order
samples from them.

1 Kg of tea will last a long time in my house. I would really prefer to buy
a really aromatic flavorful Darjeeling tea to begin with, rather than try
them out one at a time ...

Well, I didn't order any samples. Actually, I was convinced by them through
email. I saw that their teas get sold very very fast. Most of the teas I
saw was already sold and was not available. Well regarding the sample
thing, I suggest you write to them and I am sure that they will come up
with something to satisfy your answer. I contacted them through their
Sale's email address ie. Why don't you contact
them and see for yourself. Please update on this forum how they respond to
you. Just curios you know. To me they were magnificient.

Too late for me. Both their Puttabong teas are already sold out :-(

You are correct about them being cheaper than other vendors..
Maybe next spring ...

Well, I had told you that their teas are sold very fast. Infact I had asked
them about their low rates and they said they had a simple reson - "Their
teas don't route through various other tea merchants which is normally the
case with other merchants. There is no middleman involved inbetween them,
just the tea garden and their company". This sounded really amazing to me
and that is why I ordered and I don't regret it.

You can try your luck next season when the new teas are out. Please keep
me updated on your tea endeavours.

Teeman,
