Default TeaHome recommendations?

Hi Michael,

I'm starting a new thread to keep the "ty-phoo or pg tips?" one clean, so I
hope you see this.

Renee,

I found PG Tips somewhat softer than Tetley or Lipton. I suspect PG Tips
snip snip
as it pops into my mind, I'll post it.)

What do you (or anyone else with experience with Teahome) think of them? I
wasn't familiar with them before your post, and they seem to have some
interesting teas for pretty reasonable (at least by USA standards) prices.
I'm not interested in the "green style" oolongs, but their various medium
and darker roasts look nice. Unfortunately, they don't seem to have sample
sizes, so one presumably takes one's chances, which gets expensive pretty
quickly. Also, it doesn't look like they take credit cards.

Ahh, the vicissitudes of the tea life.

Thanks.

Hi Doug,

Always a good idea to purify threads. As for Teahome, the price is right. I
have high regard for their tea called "The Legend of Tung-Ting Oolong: Deep
Fermentation style." Notes: "Smooth, soft, rich enough. 11/16/04: So soft
and rich in aroma, roasted, but not overly. Bit of bitter-sweet. Well made,
excellent finish.3rd: slight metalic in aroma. Taste is pure."

On balance, I think TeaHome is fairly priced for the quality of their teas,
and they are definitely worth a look. Teas are available at much higher
prices elsewhere.

And, to your knowledge, no samples or credit cards? Have you done business
with them at least a couple of times? And they seem reasonable to do
business with? How do you pay them? Have you found that your orders arrive
in a reasonably timely manner (they claim 10-14 days)?

I don't see a tea on their website with that exact designation. They do
have: "Luu-Guu (Deer Valley) High Mountain Traditional Style Oolong 'Legend
of Tung Ting' ", which they describe as "Medium Fermentation, Medium
Roast" - is this what you're referring to?

Thanks.

Hi Doug,

Excuse me for my little interruption.
Humm... we do accept credit card payment through Paypal. We chose to stay
with Paypal because this is the easiest way to guarantee the security of
transaction. They do their works very well! We can even provide invoices in
Canadian Dollars or Pound Sterling or Euro if they fit our customers' needs.

Moreover, we do provide sample size products which are not individually
listed on eBay because it's hard to calculate the shipping cost
automatically for these light weight items when multiple items are
purchased. To visit our samplers:
http://stores.ebay.com/Teahome-Premi...pl ayZ2QQtZkm

We have taken a lot of orders from our precious customers by email alone. If
you need customized samplers, just email me; we will do our best to meet
your needs. Use the "contact us" button in our catalog
http://www.teahometw.com/usa/TeahomeEnglishCatalog.htm

About the delivery time, I can not give any guarantee since the work is done
by post office. But we ship products with registration, non of any our
customers didn't get their parcels. Moreover, most customers received their
parcels within 7-10 days, for some recent cases they even got the parcels in
5 days.

I feel sorry for these inconveniences caused by hanging on another website.
We are building our individual website, we will exactly have all these
barriers solved in our new website.
Thanks for your comment which helps us to enhance our service!

Doug,

Teahome had graciously sent me samples. I was quoting from the labels on the
tea packets. I have looked at their e-bay store, but have not yet made a
purchase.

I have had very good experiences with teahome-
Tea is received in a reasonably short time-
Teahome has also prepared a sampling pkg of the type of teas I enjoy the
most for a reasonable price-
It is one of the most positive experiences I have had with a web based
company-

Unfortunately for you there are those of us who do not use Paypal. I quit
using them when they started asking for my bank account number. If I can use
my credit card through a normal checkout process on a website and I don't
need to give my account number then I feel I should be able to do so through
Paypal but they don't see it that way. They say that it reduces card
fraud...I say my bank accnt number's none of their damn business...
