Crymad and all,

Can you tell me something about the Japanese tea ceremony known as
"Songkuruko," supposedly in use during the 14th and 15th Centuries? (I very
likely don't have the word spelled right as a Google search yielded zippo.

I'm not much of an expert on tea ceremony. My wife studied it in
college, but the term you mention doesn't ring any bells with her. I'm
assuming you heard the word spoken and are guessing at its correct
spelling, because the "ng" combo doesn't exist in Japanese --
"sonkuruko" or "son-gukuroko" would be acceptable, but alas, neither of
those two seem to be on target either. Sorry I can't offer any more.

Thanks for the information, albeit negative. The word looks like a
sort of Chinese-Japanese *******ization. Maybe the ceremony likewise?
Ever onward.

Wayne,

Thanks for the links. An interesting collection. Still can't find that
confounded word though. But, I'm learning more about the Japanese tea
ceremony.
