or so said the Executor 50 odd years ago. This year was no exception
for me, the Yunnan with which I started the day just not kicking in
resulting in my having my first pot of coffee since summer.

Back on track now with a cup of the fine Wild Tea sent me from China a
while back. How about the rest of you? What's your cup this Christmas
day?

Yes, I have something like this too, bought at Big Apple tearoom in NYC. Big
coarse leaves, lemony taste and a kick-ass caffeine level! No coffee
necessary...

I was enjoying a cup of Ambootia autumn flush after a rather big
christmas dinner.

I had a big pot of rooibos chai (leaf from Harney & Sons) after lunch
(a feast of palak paneer, vegetable handi, garlic naan, aloo paratha
and saffron rice), and another big pot of Foojoy aged pu-erh later one
(the one that smells/tastes like rich, camphorous topsoil). Mmm.

Though I had my normal Japanese kona-cha from a thermos while driving to
a friend's house, my Christmas special was a cup of...coffee. One of
the few I have during the course of a year. But it was more of an
accompaniment to dessert, a maple sugar pie that demands a foil bolder
than mere tea.

I started the day with a very nice smoky green pu-erh. After dinner, we
sampled the Huoshan Huang Ya from ITC that I'd received as a gift. All 3 of
us pronounced it smooth, sweet, and lovely. Anyone else receive or give an
interesting tea for Christmas, Hanukkah, or whatever winter holiday you
happen to celebrate?

I was invited to a Christmas dinner at my English friend's house. I
had Cuban pot roast with mashed potatoes and bean salad. During the
wonderful dinner, I had a cup Lapsang Souchong and after dinner I had
a cup of keemun mao feng with lemon meringue pie.

Keemun Mao Feng and lemon meringue pie! Two of my favorite things in the
world! Sounds like a wonderful pairing!
