and look forward to his book. Nonetheless I prefer the anthropological (sit
down and drink tea with the natives) approach to the sociological (reduce it
to statistical data and draw [unwarranted] conclusions therefrom).

Speak for yourself! For what its worth :

Cheap mediocre tea = 98%
Expensive but now out of date and hence mediocre tea = 2%

For myself, it's usually :

company : Republic of Tea or World Market store-brand
(the latter has loose-leaf, 4 oz. for $4! Such a good deal.)


Types :

"limited edition" (seasonal : rose-petal, holiday blend, etc) : 40%
green : 18%
white : 18%
herbal : 24%
