I've been drinking a Ti Kuan Yin from said company that I picked up in
an Asian supermarket in Las Vegas' Chinatown. At first I thought I
liked it, but now it tastes like cigarette butts. Am I picking up
flavors that I didn't notice earlier or am I maybe preparing it wrong?
It doesn't seem like the highest quality tea, so I'm not surprised by
the flavor.

I just tried their Pouchong yesterday and actually liked it. I'm not a
big fan of green teas (mostly because greens and whites seem to make
me a little spacey), but I think the slight oxidation of this tea
appeals to me over a truly green tea.

Thanks!

That is the Dim Sum version. The newer style is a more agreeable
green and doesnt need food. I'm a big fan of Taiwan teas.
