Quite a while ago, I posted here that I'd love to see a gaiwan
sporting the graphic you see on New York diner paper cups with the
inscription "We are happy to serve you". As far as I can tell, the
world hasn't yet fulfilled my hope. After some reflection, I really
don't think this constitutes progress:
