Default London (UK) sushi?

Will be in London for a few days in early Nov. Seeking excellent
sushi bar, more traditional, less Nobu. Suggestions greatly
appreciated.

Long time ago I visited a sushi bar very near (north?) to Picadilly Circus on a side street behind a big hotel. It was very simple place just a few wooden tables and a counter. Sushi was the best and most expensive I've had in London. There were only japanese customers, excluding me, at the time.

Hopefully someone can tell what is the name of the place or if it still exist.

What sort of price range?

Low - Mid Range - No Limit

There ain't too many at the lower end

Plus, are you willing to travel out of Central London?

No limit, in Central London. Thanks.

Try these two:

Sumasan
26 Albermarle St, W1
Tel: 0207 495 5999

or

Mitsukoshi
14-20 Lower Regent St, W1
Tel: 0207 930 0317

Try and find their sites on Google. Both are getting rave reviews in the
Japanese press here in London.

Good Luck

Graeme
