[cue the "Twilight Zone" theme]
Last night we had dinner at out favorite kushiyaki place in L.A. and
they had a special on, of course, Sanma. We ordered one along with the
usual shisomaki, negima, nasu, aspamaki, etc. A minute or so after it
arrived, ours looked exactly like the half-eaten one in that photo (no
cat, though) and a minute or so later, it was a skeleton. Lovely little
fish - we have it for sushi whenever we see it on the specials board at
sushi bars, but this was the first time we had it grilled like that.
