I'll be visiting Boston/Cambridge next week and would appreciate a recommendation for the best sushi the town has to offer. Thanks. It's not in town, but Sushi Island in Wakefield is the best in my book. In Brookline Village is Yokohama, which is also pretty good. Are you looking for lunch or dinner? -- Dan |

recommendation for the best sushi the town has to offer. Thanks. It's not in town, but Sushi Island in Wakefield is the best in my book. In Brookline Village is Yokohama, which is also pretty good. Also, Toraya in Arlington. And though I've never been, I've heard fantastic things about Oishii in Chestnut Hill. I've always enjoyed my meals at Fugakyu, which is also in Brookline. They have some incredible specials and a wide selection of sushi. Of course, I'm having lunch today at my current fave, Beansprout, which is in Malden. --Art "Usenet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea -- massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it." - Gene Spafford, 1992 |

Same for Sushi Island in Wakefield.. but both are well worth the trip if you hav ethe time. Of course, I'm having lunch today at my current fave, Beansprout, which is in Malden. You should just get a room there.. or a job. -- Dan |

Of course, I'm having lunch today at my current fave, Beansprout, which is
in Malden. You should just get a room there.. or a job. It would probably help if I spoke Chinese. ![]() Had yet another fantastic lunch. Sashimi deluxe, and I was well taken care of, with uni, ikura, hamachi, etc. Then a spicy tuna maki made with chutoro. Then a sake/ikura maki. Then free fried ice cream. Woo hoo! Haiu told me a woman ordered chutoro nigiris.. then complained to management that the color was too light! Supposedly they will have the buffet open in a week, with some sushi.. and a weekend brunch to follow, with dim sum. --Art "Usenet is like a herd of performing elephants with diarrhea -- massive, difficult to redirect, awe-inspiring, entertaining, and a source of mind-boggling amounts of excrement when you least expect it." - Gene Spafford, 1992 |

You don't yet? Next time you go, say "Gung Hay Fat Choy". He'll like that.. It's Happy New Year. Had yet another fantastic lunch. Sashimi deluxe, and I was well taken care of, with uni, ikura, hamachi, etc. Then a spicy tuna maki made with chutoro. Then a sake/ikura maki. Then free fried ice cream. Woo hoo! Mmmmm, all sounds great. Except I'd skip the ice cream and have more sushi. Haiu told me a woman ordered chutoro nigiris.. then complained to management that the color was too light! Ha! Supposedly they will have the buffet open in a week, with some sushi.. and a weekend brunch to follow, with dim sum. If he takes good care of you, the buffet won't really be that interesting. -- Dan |
