Interesting to see someone drop by from far away. Sometimes it seems
as though this is just a California-Arizona sushi board, with an
occasional post from Florida or Mass. or NY, NY.

Hey! I post more often than just occasional.

BTW, had Japanese saba Saturday night. It was a lot redder and meaty
textured. I actually think I prefer the Boston mackerel over it.

Oh, sorry, you guys. I guess I only pay attention to places where I
get to these days. I haven't been in Boston for many years. Once,
when I was in college, I took a driveaway car from NY to Boston (I
used to do that). I delivered it to an on-air dj at the Boston radio
station that night. He was behind the glass doing his schtick. It
was just like the scene in American Graffitti. In fact, I think he
looked like Wolfman Jack. Maybe he was Wolfman Jack. I wound up
sleeping in a park, under a park bench to get out of the drizzling
rain, that night, across the street from the radio station, or maybe a
few of miles away. It was pretty and tranquil in the morning, a nice
duck pond with rowboats on it, I think. If I tried that now, they'd
probably just find my bones and the remains of a cannibal feast.
Then I remember riding the MTA for free, quite by accident, because I
got in the front and didn't know that you were supposed to get in the
back and pay, something like that - one of my minor triumphs - but I
didn't ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston, I came back to NYC
eventually, but I forgot exactly how I did that. Maybe I took the
bus.

Sounds like you need to visit again, as we've cleaned up the cannibal
problem from the past decade. You will need a second mortgage to ride
the MBTA now.. I rarely if ever anymore.

But yeah, we have some great sushi in and around Boston. My favorite
places are actually in the suburbs North of Boston. A couple of places
will have special items from Japan or make items not commonly found in
most places. Good stuff.

I would think there'd be some good sushi in a seafood town like
Boston! And I'm happy to hear about your success in dealing with the
cannibal problem. Can I still sneak on the MTA through the front
door?

That's an ok list of places, but there are better places further outside
of Boston. Oishii has a Sudbury location that is larger. Some places have
gotten worse over time.. and some are just too damn expensive.
