I'm heading to Phoenix and would like some recommendations for great
Japanese (and other ethnic) restaurants. I'm used to places like Matsuhisa in L.A. and Masa in NYC, so please don't recommend Chinese/ Korean/Thai restaurants that re-package supermarket sushi. However, when it comes to Mexican food, I'd take a great Taco stand over a fancy place anyday. I'll probably have a chance to visit a lot of the state while I am there, so feel free to suggest restaurants outside of Phoenix. Thanks very much! |

Scottsdale is lucky to have a nationally acclaimed and award-winning
Japanese chef, Nobu Fukada, who runs a restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale called "Sea Saw". He specializes in small plates of raw and cooked food, and his food is superb. For plain unadulterated sushi, there seems to be a good sushi restaurant every six blocks or so. My favorite is Celsius, which is off of Tatum Blvd., across from the Desert Ridge shopping center in North Phoenix. Sam K. |

Thanks Sam and ww. Now I have some good options. Rufus - Oh, they actually spell that place Ahwatukee in case you're going to try and look it up. Maybe it's an indian name, don't ask me. |
