Its been a while, but yes.. We've taken a few Royal Carribean cruises.
They had some blah sushi on their midnight buffet. Are you talking about
that or restaurant on the ship? If the latter, I cannot comment.

I will say, their food was otherwise very good. Smoked Salmon makis just
doesn't do it for me. Be sure to work out or be active each day or you
will gain weight.. its hard not to

Find out if they catch their fish offshore every day. They did that when I
was on an equipment shakedown cruise. There was an excellent Japanese chef
on board and we, in the wardroom, ate extremely well, although we didn't
have sushi every night.

So this was a seperate restaurant on the ship? We took our last cruise 3 years
ago, a 4 day to Nova Scotia on the Jewel Of The Seas. Its a smaller ship that
only had 2 extra restaurants.

Heh heh heh! This was on a US Navy ship, the USS Compass Island, EAG 153.
The 'wardroom' is where the officer's and tech reps eat. It was the same on
the USNS Michelson, a Merchant Marine experimental navigations ship. This
was all back in the late 50's. I've never been on a commercial cruise ship.

I'm going on Sat. on the RCCL's Navigator of the Seas. I probably won't
spend the extra $$ to eat at the seperate restaurants, but I'll report back
as to the regular menu. We are taking the family (four kids) so we can't be
too extravagent!

Have a great time! Looking forward to your report and pics of more than
just the food!

Yes. Five cruises on Royal, sixth coming up in January.

Is the Sushi good?

To be honest, I don't think I've been on a Royal cruise where they
served sushi. I've heard it's not very good tho, cooked stuff only.

I did have some decent sushi on Ecstasy, a Carnival ship out of
Galveston, but I hated the experience so much I'm loath to sail
Carnival again.

The sit-down dining is very good.. we never ate at the specialty restaurants
either. I don't think I could afford a sushi bar on a cruise ship. We spend
about $120 for a family of 4 (5 year old and 2 year old).

Do they charge extra for sushi bars on cruise ships? I thought all the
food was included at the booked price on cruise ships.
