Just happened to pass by it while hungry at 4:30 today. Went inside
to see if it was worth trying. The plump raw oysters made deciding easy. Very small selection of sushi. A few rolls and machine formed rice with pieces of frozen tuna. You're at the wrong place if you're a sushi fan. I easily got my money's worth eating 3 dozen raw oysters. They were medium and small size American oysters, the kind that I like. Better than ones usually found at other AYCE places. The soft ice creme is also to my liking. The 3 jumbo shrimps I had were a bit over cooked as well as the steamed flounder, and dungeness crabs. The steam blue crabs were pretty big and cooked the way I like. Their house specialty might be the deep fried hard shell blue crab. They were very popular. Didn't try anything else because I ate so much crab and oyster. Of course now 4 hours later I'm hundry again because fish, crabs and raw oysters might fill your stomach but much of it is water. Shoulda had a little meat and potato too. $11.92 plus tip. If I had to buy at the grocery store the stuff I ate there it would cost 2 or 3 times more. |

I recently pigged out on raw oysters at a popular AYCE place on Long
Island, NY *two nights in a row*...and the next day I broke out in an itchy rash! Years ago i ate about 100 Deleware clams, and the next day I came down with an awful flu. :-P |

I wish I could find a place around Boston like that again. There was a 99's restaurant near me that had an oyster bar, $0.50/ea. The got rid of the bar a year after I found out they had it.. Legal Seafoods had a good selection of seasonal oysters. I've had many types from them, and so far I find I much prefer the East Coast ones over West Coast. The last set I had were from Martha's Vineyard and were huge and tasty. B&G Oyster in Boston's South End has a great selection all the time, but they are very pricey. -- Dan |

Ouch.. a virus? Dunno. What was it? Must have been connected with the oysters. I never had that before. It only lasted a couple of days, but it kept me up all night scratching. Years ago, passing thru Deleware, we bought a sack of about 100 clams, and I ate most of them myself, raw. The next day I came down with what seemed like a terrible flu. Must have been connected with my clam orgy. :-P |

I get your point, but think if you ate 10 lbs. of anything at a sitting, a rash would be the least of your problems ;-) It would be a shame to overindulge to the point you lost your taste for something. Dan , I really don't know . I got his name from a good friend who raises
oysters in Virginia . My buddy said he is a highly respected grower in Mass and the shipping charges would be much less shipping to me here in Vermont . Anything around a buck a piece would seem a good deal . "Dan Logcher" wrote in message ... REE wrote: Duxbury, Mass. Island Creek oysters, guy by the name of Skip Bennett (781) 934-0442. Yeah, shipping to Vermont would be pricey, except maybe from PEI. I'll give him a call and see what he can do. $1/ea would be a good price.. -- Dan |
