Default Good sushi near Asheville, NC

Good sushi in North Carolina? You bet!

For many years I lived in the San Francisco Bay area and have eaten
sushi in Australia, Japan and England and in many States in the US.
Obviously, the benchmark would have to be the San Francisco area. When
i moved to near Asheville I had little hope of finding good sushi. To
my surprise there are a number of very good sushi places in Asheville.
Wasabi and Green Tea to mention but two. But my hands-down favorite is
a bit out of the way in Pisgah Forest (near Brevard) in the Walmart
shopping center. Its name is Sora and they been open just about a year.
I've yet to have any sushi that isn't VERY fresh. My usual test is uni.
Their uni has always been a "ten" on a scale of one-to-ten for
freshness. At the suggestion of the manager I even tried the tamago, a
boring dish I usually pass up. It was the best I've ever tasted.

They are open seven days a week and, in my opinion worth a trip from
Asheville.
